How to auto-reply to Instagram and Facebook comments
Set up automatic replies to Instagram and Facebook comments: choose the keyword, write your reply, add other wordings, and pick how fast it responds. Step by step with FlowAI.
About 2 minutes
Before you start
- An Instagram Business or Creator account, or a Facebook Page, connected to FlowAI.
- A word people will comment, like PRICE or GUIDE.
Steps
- 1
Open AI Builder and choose the account
In FlowAI, open AI Builder. In the first step, choose your account and keep "Someone comments on a post" as what starts it. Pick all posts, or only the ones you choose.
- 2
Set the keyword
Type the word people will comment. It isn't case-sensitive, and it can be anywhere in their comment.
- 3
Write your reply
In the replies step, write the public reply people see under their comment. Under it you can add two other ways of saying it. FlowAI picks one at random each time, so your replies don't all look identical.
- 4
Choose how fast it replies
Reply speed has four options. Auto (the default) replies right away and adds a delay only when an automation gets busy. Instant always replies right away. Natural waits a random 20 to 90 seconds. Slow waits a random 2 to 5 minutes.
- 5
Facebook only: choose what happens to the comment
On a Facebook Page you can post a public reply, just like the comment, do both, or do neither and only send the DM. On Instagram, FlowAI replies to the comment publicly and then sends the DM. Liking Instagram comments isn't available through FlowAI yet.

Review and activate
Read the one-sentence summary at the end. If it says what you want, click Activate. Turning it on needs your 3-day free trial or a plan; until then it's saved switched off.
Tips and if something goes wrong
- Replying instantly with the exact same words to everyone is the pattern platforms watch for. If a word gets more than a few comments an hour, use Natural or Slow, and add other wordings.
- Each person gets one automated message per automation per day, however many times they comment the keyword.
- FlowAI ignores its own reply when it comes back as a new comment, so it can't answer itself in a loop.
- On Facebook, if you already replied to a comment yourself, FlowAI skips it so it doesn't pile on.
